Located in Butler County in western Pennsylvania, Cranberry Township PA is one of the fastest growing communities in the greater Pittsburgh PA area, with an estimated 2019 population of over 30,000. It is bordered by several townships including Seven Fields, Pine, Marshall, and Jackson. Located less than 30 miles from Pittsburgh city center, the town is considered a bedroom community, though it has plenty of commerce and amenities in its own right, and more people actually commute into Cranberry for work than commute out of it. The largest employer in the town is Westinghouse Electric Company, and many of other employers are drawn to the area by the easy accessibility of local highways and several local business-industrial parks.
There are lots of shopping opportunities in the town (that offer employment for locals too), including Cranberry Mall, Freedom Square, and Streets of Cranberry. A great place to visit is the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. The Fun Fore All Family Fun Park offers a lot for families to do from arcades, outdoor rides, mini golf, and a go-kart track! The Cranberry Township Community Waterpark has tons of water fun for families too, and there’s also the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park. Many of the city parks have extensive playgrounds as well.
