About Monroeville PA
Located only 10 miles east of Pittsburgh in Allegheny County Pennsylvania, Monroeville is considered a suburb but it also has plenty of industrial development alongside historic properties. The town, which had a 2020 US Census population of 28,640, was founded in 1849 and officially renamed and incorporated as the borough of Monroeville over a century later in 1951. The Turtle Creek Industrial Railroad served the area until it was converted into the Westmoreland Heritage Trail, a scenic hiking and biking trail that runs through the area. The town is easily accessible from US Route 22 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike as well as bus routes to downtown Pittsburgh, giving residents easy commutes to jobs in the city center. There are also plenty of job opportunities within the town, inducing the Monroeville Mall, the Monroeville Convention Center, and a research center for US Steel.
In addition to the Monroeville Mall, there are lots of fun things to do in and around the town.
